When and where do small groups meet?
Groups meet Monday through Sunday and meet in one of the group member's homes. Usually the location is consistent, but sometimes other group members take turns hosting the group meeting at their house.

How often do the groups meet?
Groups meet weekly during the small group 'seasons'.  During the Fall, small groups meet from September thru November.  Winter/Spring sessions meet from late January thru April.  Some groups may have a different meeting schedule to accommodate the schedules of a majority. For example, some groups meet bi-weekly.  Many groups do not meet during the summer, however, the group may choose to stay connected by gathering for a cookout, swim party, or other social event.

How long does each small group last?
After connecting, a small group initially commits to meet for 8-weeks for the Fall season. At the conclusion of those first 8 weeks, the group members decide if they want to continue meeting together for an additional sixteen to twenty-two months or the length of time that the Holy Spirit directs.

How long does each group meeting last?
Each group picks the group meeting time length. Most groups meet for 1.5 to 2 hours.

What goes on during a group meeting?

Though each group differs in how they do things, many groups have a social time in the beginning, and then transition to a time where they discuss the curriculum and then pray for each other. During the 8-week starter period, the group works out how much time they will spend on social, discussion, and prayer time (as well as the order in which they take place).

What do groups study?
During the Fall season, all groups participate in a church-wide series that coincides with the weekly sermons.  During the Winter/Spring season, each group chooses its own study approved by the Small Group Director.  See Small Group Library for a complete list of current offerings.

How do groups add additional group members?
We encourage group members to look at their existing relationships first (friends, neighbors, etc.) After that we encourage attending "Meet Your Church" event in August or seek guidance from Joanne McVey, Small Group Director.

What does it mean when a group "multiplies"?

During the term of the group, the group leader will train an apprentice to be the leader of the next group. At the end of the group, the leader will take half the current group, and the apprentice (after becoming an approved leader) will take the other half of the group. Then they will both add more members to their respective new groups, therefore allowing others to join groups with seasoned leaders.

How do I become a small group leader or host?
Your interest in leading or hosting a small group of people is a 'call' from God.  To become more informed about the responsiblities & requirements of a small group leader, attend current training sessions  on July 11th & July 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.
