We at First Church want you to know that your child's safety is important. We ask that if you are new to our church and your child is participation in any of our programming, that you complete a "Safety First" form. We also have pagers available for children birth through age 3 for your use during all services. The pagers can be signed out in the child's designated rooms. We also run background checks on our volunteers who work with children and youth. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the church office.

 

 

 

Wednesday Evening Children's Opportunities

FW Friends

6:45 - 8 p.m.

Children ages 2 years - 3rd grade (Throughout the school year)

This is based on a small group model. The children build meaningful relationships with God, other children, and adults.

 

Club 45

6:45 - 8 p.m.

Children in 4th and 5th grade (Throughout the school year)

A club atmosphere brings in the concept of belonging to a group and the idea that this is different from Sunday School. This is more relaxed with games and other active learning group opportunities. It is also an intentional learning experience where students are invited and encouraged to learn Bible concepts and verses. There are also quarterly "fun" events and service projects.

Other Children's Opportunities (Throughout the year)

 

Summer

During the summer, Vacation Bible School is offered for all children ages 3 years through 5th grade. This is open to all children in the community.

 

Winter

Children who attend Wednesday night FW Friends and Club 45 participate in the Mt. Sterling Christmas parade by riding on a float that the church enters in the parade.
